SCL Elements, manufacturer of CAN2GO products, officially launched its new line of smart wireless peripherals. The line includes the TE2 terminal unit and the DA2 proportional 
damper/valve actuator, based on the Belimo MP-Bus platform. The DA2 received a 2012 AHR Expo Innovation Award honorable mention.
The TE2 and DA2 are both individually programmable and have local memory. They communicate wirelessly with CAN2GO controllers which automatically convert their points to BACnet. This facilitates deployment and integration, for less labor-intensive and more cost-effective commissioning.
The DA2 combines CAN2GO’s wired and wireless multiprotocol integration capabilities with Belimo’s proven damper actuator technology. It is suitable for water-based central heating/cooling systems, geothermal systems (ground source heat pumps), chillers and cooling towers, chilled beams and ceilings, water source heat pumps, and radiant floors or chilled slabs.
“The MP-Bus platform is allowing innovative companies like SCL Elements to develop new products for the energy efficiency and building automation industry. In this case, they took the proven Belimo proportional actuator and added wireless and local programming capabilities to it,” said Nelson B. Estrella, Belimo Product Manager.
The TE2 is a terminal control unit made for 2-pipe and 4-pipe fan coil units, as well as heat pumps and dehumidification units. On top of its wireless capabilities, it provides the level of control expected from a fully programmable controller, but at the price of an end device.
