Belimo showcased new products for 2011 at the International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
EF Actuator
The new EF revealed it strength with a live 
demonstration. The new single EF (270 in-lb actuator) delivers more force than two classic AF’s 133 in-lb actuator (mounted in tandem for double the torque). The demonstration unit consisted of a drive pulley and tension spring configuration which simulated the torque loading of a control air damper. The actuators were mounted on the pulley’s shaft and powered up to rotate in one direction and then rotate back to its starting position. The EF actuator with MFT can be programmed to run faster (60 seconds) than two tandem mounted AF actuators. The EF actuator is due to release late summer.
Electronic Fail-Safe Actuator
The GK simply demonstrates what happens when power is lost. Customer can set the fail-safe position and with the switch you can turn power on – then turn power off. The actuator will shut off in it fail-safe position that was set. The fail-safe position can be set 0-100% in 10% increments providing the user a wide range of power off positions. Remember power consumption is significantly reduced in standby and hold mode by this patented function; offering further energy savings.
Jackshaft Linkage
The Jackshaft linkage was located on the retrofit freestanding kiosk allowing attendees experience hands-on how quick and easy it is to replace an actuator.
Electronic Pressure Independent Valve
The ePIV demonstration unit illustrates how the ePIV responds to system changes to maintain pressure independency. Changes in system pressure (load changes) were simulated on the rig in two ways:
- Opening and closing the LGCCV valve in the bypass line
- Increasing or decreasing the pump speed using the VFD control
